I joined Beaumont Select in 2004 and have never looked back. Just like a lot of my colleagues and fellow Recruiters out there in the marketplace, I didn’t set out to work in this industry. After graduating in French Studies from Nottingham University in 1997, I worked in London for 6 months before setting off for the French Alps to work as a Ski Rep. I felt I needed to use my French language skills in a more healthy and appropriate environment than the City of London. When I came back I joined the Graduate Management scheme at LloydsTSB.
I was attracted to a career in specialist, niche recruitment and Beaumont appeared to tick many of my boxes. We are very open, friendly and down-to-earth. Many people know us within the “World of Procurement” and the opportunity to work with varied clients across the UK and overseas is something that appeals greatly. Don’t get me wrong - some days I’m left banging my head against the desk as this job doesn’t always go to plan (as we all know), but ultimately the positives far outweigh the negatives. I aim to meet as many people as possible in person – candidates and clients alike. I feel this is absolutely key to any success.
Outside work I’m currently a glorified Taxi Driver at the weekends as well as an ATM pretty much seven days a week. My two young children make sure of this but I wouldn’t have it any other way (he says). I do find time for 5 aside football and enjoy exploring all the Canary Islands on family holidays (not all at the same time). Lanzarote is our favourite so if you’re thinking of going for the first time, and need some advice, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
