The primary objective of the Category Management team is to provide the business with year on year cost reduction and competitive advantage by proactively providing partnerships, agreements, frameworks and Strategic Relationship Management (SRM). As a Category Manager you will be expected to provide ongoing development and implementation of Category and Sub-Category strategies which typically cover a 1-3 year horizon and are aligned with the business requirements. You will be expected to build excellent relationships and work closely with key business stakeholders at all levels to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and aligned with the Category sourcing strategies, providing expert external supply market knowledge to the business.

The Category Manager role has a strong lean towards Recruitment and L&D, but this role would suit somebody who has strong experience of all Professional Services sub-categories.

If you have:
  • A proven ability to lead and execute strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, challenging and influencing skills
  • Ability to translate complex procurement guidance into simple, straightforward and practical advice
  • A proven record of delivering value for money, commercially astute with excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Project management skills
  • Understand and challenge current ways of working to improve efficiency and drive collaboration
  • Be bold and innovative in the approach to problem solving, setting an example for other members of the procurement function to follow
