Procurement Manager - Data Centre Construction | London | Hybrid ~ We are partnering with a rapidly growing European Data Centre business to recruit a Procurement Manager to join their newly created Procurement team…
We are partnering with an ambitious European data centre organisation that has recently established a greenfield procurement function. Following the successful appointment of an experienced Head of Procurement, the business is now looking to make its second strategic procurement hire.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced procurement professional who wants more than just another sourcing role. You will play a pivotal part in building procurement capability, embedding best practice, influencing senior stakeholders, and creating a function that delivers genuine commercial value across a fast-growing, infrastructure-focused business.
With procurement now firmly earning its seat at the table, you will join at an exciting stage where you will have the autonomy to shape processes, influence decision-making, and leave a lasting mark on the organisation.
Working as the trusted partner to the Head of Procurement, you will lead strategic sourcing activity across a broad range of Construction, operational, technical, and infrastructure-related spend. You will engage with stakeholders from initial demand through to supplier selection, commercial negotiation, contract execution, and ongoing supplier management.
This role is highly visible and genuinely strategic, requiring someone who enjoys operating in a hands-on environment while helping mature procurement governance, supplier management, and commercial disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading end-to-end sourcing and tender activities across multiple categories.
- Developing commercial strategies and negotiation plans.
- Managing complex supplier negotiations and contract mark-ups.
- Supporting business stakeholders with sourcing strategy and supplier engagement.
- Building greater visibility of supplier spend, renewals and procurement pipeline.
- Driving supplier governance, performance management, and relationship management.
- Identifying opportunities for cost optimisation and commercial improvement.
- Helping establish procurement processes and governance as the function continues to evolve.
Experience required:
- 10+ years' procurement experience with strong strategic sourcing capability.
- Experience within infrastructure, engineering, construction, facilities management, utilities, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive environments.
- Excellent commercial negotiation and contract management skills - FIDIC suite knowledge would be a plus.
- Strong stakeholder engagement with the confidence to influence senior operational and technical leaders.
- Experience operating in fast-paced organisations where procurement has been growing or transforming.
- MCIPS qualification (or working towards) is a MUST.
Head Office is central London - Hybrid 1-2 days a week.
