Procurement Recruitment Predictions for 2021
We were hoping for a bit of a boost in procurement recruitment activity come the new year, though with recent events, levels of confidence that any significant improvement will be seen in the early months of 2021 are hopeful, at best.
Last week’s Markit/CIPS PMI figures https://www.markiteconomics.com/Public/Home/PressRelease/4bcc14f3db3845a7a5ab9aca65cedd4d show very moderate overall growth, largely as a result of manufacturing growth to meet Brexit deadlines it must be said. With still no clarity on our future trading relationship in Europe, and now a new more transmissible strain of the covid-19 virus likely to cause further lockdown restrictions, further impeding our ability to trade with our European and global neighbours https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-55404087; it’s looking more and more like ‘no business as usual’ come January 2021...
Realistically, we are hoping that by March with a national vaccination program well under way and the Brexit picture somewhat clearer, business confidence will improve and Procurement & Supply Chain Recruitment activity will strengthen, in line with an improving UK economic climate...
